We thought you might enjoy knowing all the fun events that are happening in Santa Cruz during the 2009 Spring Break.
Schools schedules vary, but some start on Friday March 27 and go through Monday April 13, the day after Easter, so all the events attached are during that time. Most of these events are FREE and some have a small charge.
All the locals put a lot of love and energy in making these events happen. For instance my 85 year old mother is a docent at the Wetland Trails where every Sunday at 1:30pm they have guided walks. You can walk, jog, bicycle on 4 miles of trails at any time between Sat and Sun 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. She is a Master Gardner and has always enjoyed sharing her knowledge of all the flowers and other plants in this area. She or one of the others docents will give you a short guided tour at 1:30 every Saturday that includes how the Indians used several plants and why it is important to the local fauna. All the volunteers have spend many hours helping restore these Wetlands to their natural condition and they enjoy showing off all they have achieved. Click here for the trail map
While you are going down to that area, be sure and stop and see the docks that are covered with Sea Lions. They are located on the Right side of Hwy 1, next to the Sea Harvest Restaurant just before the town of Moss Landing and are always there waiting to see you! (The restaurant feature fresh fish from the local fishermen and is very tasty & reasonable!)

Remember, if you share any of these homes with another family, it's often less $$ than a hotel or motel, especially since you have a full kitchen so you don't have to eat out every meal. You can stay as short a time as 2-nights or as long as you wish. Discounts apply for 3 or more nights.
